what the 1st person said - try a goodwill or salvation army drop off point (if you have those organizations out west)
Look for a womans shelter or some type of goodwill facility in Yahoo search local
A homeless shelter, or a battered women's shelter.
Where I live the Women's shelters are always asking for these type of donations.

There are shelters for the homeless and domestic violence victims that are always in need of these types of donations. Churches that work doing outreach will also collect and distribute these items as well.
